We all start out parenting with the best of intentions. We make audacious statements like “my kid will never eat fast food!” or “I’m going to make my own baby food!”. Veteran moms laughed and rolled their eyes, but we still swore we’d do things differently.

Then, a few months into things, we realized what we were up against: cooking multiple, fresh meals per day while trying to keep up with the responsibilities of caring for little ones, our homes, and our careers is downright exhausting.

Let’s not forget to mention those of us who were blessed with picky eaters. Sometimes you feel like you’re cooking a meal simply to scrape it all in the garbage. The bottom line is, you’re stressed, exhausted, and often defeated when it comes to mealtimes.

But the introduction of fresh kids meal delivery services has been saving parents everywhere, taking a load off their plates and their minds. Yumble and Nurture Life are two of the top kids meal subscription services available, delivering pre-portioned meals right to your door each and every week.

With meals made from scratch out of fresh, organic ingredients, including plenty of fruits and veggies, you can take a deep breath, relax, and cut out some of the mealtime stress that’s been bogging you down.

In this article, I’m comparing Yumble vs. Nurture Life, painting for you a picture of each service and their offerings so you can choose the right one for your family.

Why Use a Kids Meal Delivery Service?

Choosing a kids meal delivery subscription allows you to provide your children with fresh, home-cooked meals with all the nutrients they need, without all the stress and hassle of trying to make them yourself.

The ingredients in the meals are fresh, organic, high-quality, and designed just for kids. That means you’ll see all your kids favorite foods like chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and quesadillas, but with plenty of fruits and veggies packed in.

These meal services are designed to offer a healthy, easy, nutritious alternative to cooking at home and to help foster healthy eating habits, even with the pickiest of eaters.

All About Yumble

Yumble was founded by a mom of three, Joanna Parker, when she realized that doing it all was near impossible and that she wasn’t the only mom who was struggling to do so.

She founded Yumble as a way to help save parents time and energy planning, preparing, and cooking healthy meals for their children. She wanted to help parents by giving them back some of their time, thereby reducing their stress and allowing them more opportunity to spend quality time with their children.

Yumble offers fresh, balanced meals, developed for kids, and delivered in pre-portioned, refrigerated boxes right to your door. We actually ordered and tried yumble so you can see for yourself in our review of yumble kids.

2. Your Meals Meals Delivered Directly To You

Yumble FAQs

Q: How do meals stay fresh during shipping?

A: Your meals will arrive at your door packed in an insulated box that contains enough frozen gel packs to keep them at a safe temperature until they arrive at your home and you put them in your refrigerator.

Q: How often are meals delivered?

A: Once per week! You’ll receive a shipping notification and tracking number with each shipment and you will receive all 6, 8, or 16 meals that you ordered that week per your plan.

Q: Am I charged weekly or monthly?

A: Your subscription is week-to-week, so your card will be charged for each active week as long as your subscription is still in place. If you’re going out of town one week or want to skip a week for any reason, all you need to do is indicate that in your profile and you won’t receive the food or be charged for that week. You can also cancel your subscription at any time, no questions asked.

Q: Can I freeze the meals?

A: Meals are generally good for up to 7 days as long as they are refrigerated and consumed before their printed expiration date. Yumble does not recommend freezing their meals as some of them don’t reheat as well as others. However, the meal trays they come on are freezer-safe, so you’re welcome to freeze them and reheat if you are comfortable with it.

All About Nurture Life

Nurture Life was founded by Steve Minisini and Jennifer Chow who decided that kids needed and deserved better. As parents themselves, they knew that the general population wants to feed their children nutritiously, but it’s a struggle because we’re surrounded by easy, convenient meal options that are filled with junk that’s flat out unhealthy for consumption.

They want to help kids and families everywhere start out on the right foot when it comes to healthy eating and nutrition by making healthy, nutritious meals convenient and affordable for families.

Recently, our Registered Dietician Nutritionist Lindsey DeSoto, wrote a review of Nurture Life to see if it was, in fact, legit. It's a great read and you'll get a lot of good insight from her as she's a Fit Healthy Momma as well!

Similar to Yumble, Nurture Life delivers fresh, organic meals designed for various ages and stages right to your doorstep each week in eco-friendly packaging.

Nurture Life Meal Benefits

  • Nutritionally balanced meals made with fresh, organic ingredients

3. Enjoy!

Whether you have a picky eater or an adventuresome food explorer, all meals are designed to be enjoyed by kids and families of all ages. As parents, you can rest assured that your child is getting the nutrients they need at mealtime, even if they ate poptarts for breakfast and a hotdog for lunch.

Which Kids Meal Delivery Service Is Better For Your Family?

When comparing Yumble and Nurture Life, it’s easy to see how both companies are on a similar mission. In all honesty, I think that both kids meals delivery service are fantastic and that you can’t go wrong with either. However, Nurture Life serves a wider range of ages.

So if you’re looking for meals for the whole family, Nurture Life may be your best option as they serve meals made for ages 10 months through adulthood. That said, if you have a picky toddler (or two like me!) Yumble is fantastic for toddlers and young kids who traditionally don’t eat much, especially nothing healthy.

I chose Yumble for my kids, ages 2 and 4, and they absolutely love the meals. Of course, there are days when some items are left untouched, but for the most part, I have seen a significant increase in their food consumption. Between the novelty of the meals and how they are designed to be aesthetically pleasing and fun for kids and their great taste, my kids have started to eat healthier and more nutritiously despite all my precious best efforts.
